ADMISSION PROCEDURE

How To Apply

Applications for admission to the First Year class will be received on the prescribed Preliminary Application Form, attached at the end of the prospectus. The form can also be downloaded from the website at the same time. To get the schedule for admission to B.Com. (Hons.) /B.A. (Hons.) Economics for the academic session 2005-06, as notified by the University, CLICK HERE. The Application Form must be accompanied with an attested copy of the certificate of having passed the qualifying examination including the details of marks (Class 12).

Selection

Candidates provisionally selected for Admission will be required to meet the admission committee.Names of candidates selected for admission would be put-up on the Notice Board of the College. No individual intimation is sent to applicants. Candidates selected for admission are required to deposit their fees within the prescribed time, failing which their selection for admission would stand automatically cancelled. Admission to the College is provisional and subject to the final approval of the University on submission of the Enrolment Form.

Admission Formalities

Candidates selected for admission will be required to do the following:

(i) Fill in the Admission Form (obtainable from College Office);
(ii) Fill in and submit the University Enrolment Form (to be obtained from the Office);
(iii) Complete the formalities for issue of Identity Card;
(iv) Submit original Marks Sheet with a certified copy;
(v) Submit original Provisional Certificate of passing the qualifying examination with a certified copy;
(vi) Bring an attested copy and the original Class X certificate as certificate for Date of Birth.
(vii) An applicant coming from a State education Board or University other than the University of Delhi is required to submit a Migration Certificate.

All the documents are to be submitted to the Admission Committee for verification.

Post-Graduate Admission

Once a candidate is selected and takes admission after payment of fees and completing other procedures, he/she becomes a student of the College subject to the approval of his/her enrolment by the University. All students are advised to procure the Students' Handbook at the earliest so that they become aware of their privileges and obligations to the institution. Moreover, information on courses, recommended readings, facilities in College, are incorporated in it and will serve as a useful guide during their stay in College.

The first term is scheduled to commence on Friday, July 15, 2005 and students are to assemble in the College Auditorium at 10.00 a.m. for the Orientation Programme.

Important Information For All Applicants : -

i) No direct admission will be made to second and third year classes of B.Com. (Hons.)/B.A.(Hons.) Economics.

ii) Candidates who wish to apply for both the courses B.Com. (Hons.) and B.A. (Hons.) Economics whether on 'Sports' basis or on 'Merit' basis must submit separate application forms for each course. Additional application forms are available from the College Office on payment.

iii) Applications not mentioning correctly the relevant "Eligibility Category" and subjects are liable to be rejected.

iv) No re-admission is allowed in any of the three years of the B.Com (Hons.)/ B.A.(Hons.) Economics courses in case a student fails. This rule is applicable to all categories of admissions including those on sports basis.

v) No migration to this College is permitted in any of the three years of B.Com.(Hons.)/B.A.(Hons.) Economics.

vi) Any student submitting false/forged/fake certificates will be debarred from admission to any course, and would be liable to suitable legal action. If he/she is admitted, his/her admission will be cancelled. Such cases will also be notified to all colleges and to the police.

vii) In case a student gets his/her admission cancelled, he/she will not be re-admitted.

Admission On The Basis of Sports

Only 20 admissions (both boys and girls) are made on the basis of sports achievements at the school level and the actual performance at the field-trials conducted by the College. Candidates who wish to seek admission on Sports Basis must submit a separate application irrespective of their application for B.Com. (Hons.) /B.A. (Hons.) Economics course on merit basis. Candidate must indicate 'Sports' in Column No. 8 (Eligibility Category) of the Application Form. Certified true copies of the relevant Sports Certificates and newspaper clippings must be attached to the Application Form along with other documents as listed in the section How To Apply and Selection.

The Sports Admission Committee shall screen/evaluate the applications, hold interviews and field-trials and recommend candidates thereafter for admission on Sports basis. No Sports case with a performance other than first, second or third position in Inter-Zonal Tournaments would be considered for admission. Candidates selected for field-trial are advised to see the Notice-Board for the dates thereafter. No individual information will be sent.
