The Bioinformatics Centre has kept pace with the ongoing developments in the field and actively contributes to them. It offers a one year training programme, “Advanced Post Graduate Diploma in Bioinformatics”, to train both biologists and non-biologists who would like to pursue either a career or higher studies in this rapidly upcoming field.

The programme offers two tracks, viz., biology track and non-biology track, keeping in mind the requirements of students coming from different backgrounds. The courses are designed to maximize the potential of the students in each track.

The BIC JNU also hosts two national facilities :

The Jai Vigyan project Plant Genome Mirror Site and National National Facility for Molecular Modelling both funded by Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India.

Internet Connectivity : Our host organization has high speed connectivity through Software Technology Park of India (STPI), Noida and a fiber optic based campus wide LAN is fully functional. Besides this BIC – JNU is part of the BIO-GRID Project of DBT with a VPN network of 1 MBPS connecting all major BICs, and a shared internet bandwidth of 4 MBPS.
