ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Detailed instructions for candidates qualifying in our cut-off lists to be announced as per the admission schedule. Please do read all the following details very carefully before dashing off any queries to us by email/form mail.

Regardless of your initial mode of application submission (online or otherwise) final admission after the declaration of the admission list(s) can only be sought in person by the candidate by presenting himself/herself in person at Hans Raj College, University of Delhi, Delhi 110 007 on the scheduled dates specified.

ONLY the candidates falling within the respective cut-off list(s) are to contact the respective Course       Admission In-charges between 10.00 A.M. and 1.00 P.M. on the admission days notified as per the       admission schedule at the room locations notified at the premises of Hans Raj College, Delhi on those       days.

For all candidates seeking admission to science stream it is mandatory that they have at least 40% marks     (for Pass Course) and 50% marks (for Honours Course) in English, and that they have cleared all the     included subjects.

Please ensure that YOU have procured a PRINTED copy of the Prospectus. If not, please ask for it and do      procure one before you fill up the final admission form.

Please note that Business Maths. is OK and will be included as an elective subject for admission to      Economics Hons. & B.Com. Hons. courses, and, as is the practice, candidates opting for B.Sc. Gen. A Group      can count either Chemistry or Computers as one of their best three subjects in working out their PCM      (Physics - Chemistry / Computers - Maths.).

Only one vocational subject would be considered for inclusion in the best four subjects and that too for B.A.      Pass Course only. No vocational subject would be considered among the best fours for admission to any      Honours Course.

Gap Year cases (those who have cleared class XII exam. prior to 2005) will be considered, if at all, only on      the last day of the respective admission lists.

YOU should provide the originals and attested photocopies of the following documents :

Class XII computerized mark-sheet (if it is NOT computerized, please get it authenticated by your      Resident Commissioner)

Provisional or school-leaving certificate

Character certificate (if not included in the Provisional certificate above)

Class X date-of-birth certificate (to be retained by the College)

One passport-size photo (need NOT be attested, to be affixed on the admission form)

Bank draft (if paying fee thus)

Candidates should write their name/course at the back of the draft.

Candidates are requested just to CLIP (NOT pin or staple) the material being submitted in the following      order :

Any undertakings (about shortage of age etc.)

Admission form (with photo affixed) to be provided by the college

Enrolment form, also to be provided by the college

Class X certificate

Attested and self attested photocopies of all certificates

Bank draft (if necessary)

All the remaining original certificates

Fee deposit slip (if necessary)

No person shall be qualified for admission to the university in the first year of a degree course unless he /     she is 17 (seventeen) years of age, or, if seeking admission to the 2nd year of a course, unless he / she is     18 (eighteen) years of age, before the first day of October in the year in which he/she seeks admission. This     implies the the candidate should NOT have been born later than 30th September, 1988. Students born     between 1st October 1989 and 30th September 1990, both days inclusive, are also eligible, and may be     asked to attach the 'age-relaxation request' proforma.

The candidates’ parents/guardians should countersign the admission form as well as the attendance      undertaking in the presence of the respective admission in-charges.

The admission form must be duly signed by the respective admission in-charges. All photocopies of the      documents submitted should be attested and further self-attested too by the candidate in the presence of the      respective admission in-charges.
