Land and Climate: Being the largest country on Earth, Russia is home to many landscapes and wildlife. Much of the western area of the country is composed of flat plains or low-lying hills. The Ural Mountain Range divides the west from the vast east that stretches to the Pacific ocean. Within the eastern area, forest and tundra blanket Siberia while grasslands are found to the south. Wildlife abounds throughout the country and includes bison, reindeer, wolves, brown bears, snow leopards, and lynx. |
