Conditions For Reservation Of Seats For SC/ST |

I) Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes category seeking admission to the first year of a course will be required to get their names registered between June 01, 2005 and June 15, 2005. The registration can be done at any of the following registration centers from 10.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. during weekdays (including saturdays) : |
i) North Campus (Sports Complex, Opposite University Cricket Ground) |
ii) South Campus, (Office of the Joint Dean, Students’ Welfare) |
iii) Bhim Rao Ambedkar College (Yamuna Vihar, Wazirabad Road) |
iv) Rajdhani College (Raja Garden) |
II) 22˝ % of the total number of seats is reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes (15% for Scheduled Caste and 7˝ % for Scheduled Tribes, interchangeable, if necessary). |
III) Candidates belonging to both these categories, who have passed the last qualifying examination, would be registered. Such candidates however shall be required to fulfill the requirements of admission as detailed in the foregoing pages. |
IV) Relaxation to the extent of 5% in the minimum marks will be given to the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes to determine their eligibility and merit for admission to the course concerned. |
V) In case, after giving 5% relaxation, the reserved seats still remain vacant, further relaxation would be given to the extent required in order to fill up all the reserved seats. |
VI) If sufficient number of such candidates is not forthcoming, the seats reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe shall filled up by other candidates with the specific prior approval of the University. |
For purpose of registration the candidates will be required to apply on a prescribed form available at the Registration Centre, along with the Original certificates as well as two self attested Photostat copies thereof. The candidates are required to bring the SC/ST certificate issued in their own name. The original certificate will be returned to the candidate after endorsement on the reverse of the Certificate. The following certificates are required: |
I) Provisional or original Senior School Certificate examination or an examination recognised as equivalent thereto. |
II) Mark-sheet of the Senior School Certificate Examination or an examination recognised as equivalent thereto. |
III) ScheduledCaste/Scheduled Tribe Certificate (Original of the candidate from anyone of the following officers: |
i) District Magistrate/Additional District Magistrate/Collector/Deputy Commissioner/Addl. Deputy Commissioner/Deputy |
ii) Chief Presidency Magistrate/Additional Chief Presidency Magistrate/ Presidency Magistrate. |
iii) Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar. |
iv) Sub-Divisional Officer of the area where the Candidate and/of his family normally resides. |
v) Administrator/Secretary to Administrator/Development Officer (Laccadive and Minicoy Islands) |
Note:- |
SC/ST students who get admission under open merit will not be included in the reserved quota i.e. 22.5%. |
